My name is Matthew and I helped create this site! I am about 32 years old and I have a beautiful wife of almost 10 years with two little boys. We currently reside in Southern Oregon. I just graduated SOU with a Computer Science Degree. I have built two other fully functional membership based sites; this is my third site and first ministry.

I served in the military for eight years and I am also a cancer survivor. I wanted to use the skills God has given me for Him. This site, a reflection of that desire, a ministry to glorify the Lord by supporting, encouraging and inspiring believers around the world; and for those who are not believers, to show them the reality of Jesus in our lives, and in so doing, lead them to Christ.

Rhema Word from God

Trusting God for Inspiration, Insight and Understanding.

To newer Christians, the word rhema is completely unfamiliar. Long-term believers often speak of hearing the rhema word of God, and they consider it precious and something special enough to continually pursue.
In Greek, the word rhema means "an utterance." Therefore, the rhema word in Biblical terms refers to a portion of scripture that "speaks" to a believer. In most cases, a rhema word received while reading the Bible or hearing a preached word that, applies to a current situation or need. In essence, the rhema word is timely and extremely valuable in a Christian's walk with God.

In 2 Timothy 3:16, the Apostle Paul says that God inspired the writers of the Bible. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." In the NIV version of the Bible, it says that Scripture is God-breathed.

With this understanding, Christians can count on the written words contained in the Bible to have deep and personal meaning to their lives. And it is the Holy Spirit who enlightens believers when reading a Scripture, with the goal of imparting wisdom, knowledge or understanding in order to have an immediate impact. This is a great promise of God; that He is with us when we read His word and He is able to make His words come alive in our hearts.

Though the Greek word Rhema does not appear in non-Greek Bibles, Matthew 4:4 is an excellent example of its importance. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word [rhema] that proceeds out of the mouth of God." In John 6:63, Jesus confirmed this point when he said, "The words [rhema] that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

Rhema from Scripture is good, but daily rhema will guide a Christian's steps.

My name is Pam. I am 61 years old. I am the blessed mother of 7 children (6 girls and 1 boy) (4 which are adopted daughters) and, yes, the baby is the boy. They range in age from 23 to 41. I have been married to my best friend for 43 years. We have 14 grandchildren.

In 2003 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Stage 3, Aggressive, Difuse, Large B Cell Cancer. I was not overwhelmed by the diagnosis because I KNEW something was wrong with me. The Holy Spirit was nudging me to find out what. I have lived a very healthy life without drugs, alcohol, smoking and I married my high school sweetheart. RATHER when the diagnosis came after THREE YEARS of searching my comment was: Finally, now we know what it is.

I went through a strong 6-month chemotherapy and as with most cancer patients lost all my hair, and went from a size 12 down to a skinny size 4.

I knew then and know now that God has an appointed day for my departure from this earth. So I suppose you would call me the eternal optimist since either way I win! If I stay here I have more time to touch other lives for Jesus and if I die, Oh Hallelujah what a day that will be!

One way I dealt with my cancer was to make fun of it. I told people when I was bald, Hey, what's the problem? I never have a bad hair day! Or, Who needs makeup when you don't have any eyebrows or eyelashes? And, finally, I said, Who wouldn't love to avoid the tasks of shaving under their arms and legs? No hair-No shaving! My final comment used to leave people chuckling as I told them I did not have a cast to boast of my injury, but I'd gladly give them a marker and they could sign my shiny bald head! Cancer is tough but God is greater!

Actually, the above sounds awesome but in reality I went into a depression a year after my cancer. You see I am a people person. I worked in a law firm with 119 attorneys and their staff. We took up 10 floors of the Sun Trust Building and when everything stopped I was suddenly alone.

Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 – January 31, 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers". He was a strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church in his day.

In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times each week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave that denomination. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously.

Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, poetry, hymnist, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime.
